About

EcoSol Africa is a Pan-African transaction advisory and corporate finance firm headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. We exist to solve Africa's most persistent capital markets challenge: the execution gap that prevents well-structured businesses and viable projects from reaching institutional capital. Our mandate is precision - in structuring, in packaging, and in execution - delivered to institutional standards, every time.

Our Story

EcoSol Africa was founded on a simple but urgent observation: Africa does not have a capital availability problem - it has a capital deployment problem. Billions of rands, dollars, and euros sit in DFI facilities, private equity vehicles, and impact capital funds waiting to be deployed into African mid-market transactions. Yet deal after deal stalls at the funder approval stage, not because the underlying opportunity is weak, but because the quality of the advisory infrastructure supporting it is insufficient.

EcoSol was established to change that dynamic. We bring institutional-grade transaction advisory capability to the mid-market, ensuring that sponsors - whether they are ambitious SMEs seeking first-round growth capital, or established corporates executing complex strategic transactions - can access the same quality of deal execution that has historically been reserved for the largest transactions advised by global investment banks.

Since inception, EcoSol has expanded from its South African home base into a Pan-African practice with active transaction advisory mandates across the continent. Our team combines deep capital markets expertise with on-the-ground knowledge of African market dynamics, funder requirements, and regulatory environments - giving our clients a decisive advantage in competitive fundraising processes.

Our Philosophy: Practical Wisdom, Direct Solutions

We are a quality-over-quantity firm. We take on a limited number of mandates at any given time, ensuring that each engagement receives the full attention of our senior advisory team. Every deliverable - from the first structuring memo to the final data room - is quality-gated against institutional standards before it reaches a funder. We measure our success not by the number of mandates we sign, but by the number of transactions we close.

This philosophy is embedded in our 2-to-6-week delivery framework. We have designed our advisory process to move at the speed of capital markets, not the speed of traditional consulting engagements. Milestone-based project management, dedicated advisory resourcing, and a single point of accountability on every mandate ensure that our clients can trust both the quality and the timeline of our outputs.

Transaction Advisory Methodology

EcoSol's advisory methodology is structured around a four-phase deal lifecycle framework:

Phase 1: Diagnose

We begin every engagement with a structured diagnostic - assessing the deal's capital requirements, existing documentation, financial performance, and funder landscape. This phase identifies execution risks early, allowing us to design a customised advisory programme that addresses them proactively rather than reactively.

Phase 2: Structure

We design the capital architecture - determining the optimal mix of debt, equity, mezzanine, and quasi-equity instruments - and develop the investment logic that positions the deal for maximum appeal to target funders. This phase includes preliminary financial modelling, initial term sheet parameters, and a funder mapping exercise.

Phase 3: Package

We produce the full suite of investor documentation: investment memorandum, executive summary, three-statement financial model with scenario analysis, management presentation, data room index, and all supporting compliance materials. Every document is reviewed against the specific requirements of the funders in the target capital pool before release.

Phase 4: Execute

We manage the funder engagement process - coordinating roadshows, managing inbound due diligence enquiries, supporting term sheet negotiation, reviewing shareholder and subscription agreements, and tracking conditions precedent through to financial close. We remain engaged until capital is in the account.

Pan-African Reach

EcoSol Africa operates across four core markets, with an active pipeline of expansion into additional African jurisdictions:

South Africa (Head Office - Johannesburg & Cape Town)

South Africa remains EcoSol's largest market and home base. Our Johannesburg team serves corporates, SMEs, and project sponsors across all major sectors, with deep relationships across the DFI, private equity, and commercial bank funder landscapes. Our Cape Town office serves the Western Cape business community and provides access to international impact capital networks.

Kenya

Kenya is East Africa's most active capital market and a key expansion market for EcoSol. We provide transaction advisory services to Kenyan businesses seeking access to regional and international capital, with particular focus on the technology, agriculture, infrastructure, and financial services sectors.

Zambia

Zambia's resource-rich economy and growing private sector present compelling transaction advisory opportunities across mining, agriculture, and infrastructure. EcoSol's Zambia practice focuses on cross-border capital structuring and DFI-aligned financing for growth-stage businesses and project finance transactions.

Namibia

Namibia's stable macroeconomic environment and well-regulated financial sector make it an attractive market for structured finance and mid-market transaction advisory. EcoSol supports Namibian businesses in accessing regional and continental capital pools, with a focus on renewable energy, agribusiness, and financial services.
